Neuropsychological Versus Psychological Testing

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL VERSUS PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING

There is often confusion about whether to request a neuropsychological assessment or a psychological assessment.

In short, neuropsychological testing primarily focuses on neurological conditions and neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, autism, and learning disorders. Psychological testing primarily focuses on disorders outside of those previously mentioned and might include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, and traumatic stress.

We highly value a tailored experience and assessment for each client; because of this, it will not matter which term you use when requesting your assessment. We will ensure your testing perfectly addresses what you need.
